House Description

A very cosy, fresh, modern, fully equipped conversion of a byre. Ideal for a couple to enjoy stunning and panoramic views of the Small Isles and Skye from the comfort of the living room through the large patio doors. Five minute walk to sandy beaches. All on ground floor with laminated wooden flooring throughout: open plan kitchen and lounge with dining area and multi-fuel stove. Front entrance to hall leading to one double bedroom and shower room with toilet and washbasin.

To find Dondie’s House: drive into Kilchoan and at the T-junction in the middle of the village turn right and follow the road to the Lighthouse. Drive past the Sonachan Hotel to Achosnich. Continue along to Portuairk, take the first turning to the left just after the cattle grid, and opposite a small car park and you will see the sign for Borve House and Dondie’s House on the gate. You will share the same parking area as Borve House.

The front door will be unlocked and the key will be on the kitchen table.

Day of arrival is a Saturday and the property is available from 4.00pm on the holiday start date until 10.00am on the finish date.

Enough kindling and wood will be left to take you over the weekend. 20 kilo. bags of coal @ £4.20 approx. and Peat are available at The Ferry Stores in Kilchoan.

Please read the meter on arrival and departure, and leave a cheque or cash in payment made out to Mr D. Cameron (the house owner). The cost per unit will be clearly displayed in your house. The hot water, heating [if necessary] and refrigerator will be on for your arrival.

Linen Service can be provided at £7.00 per person. If you wish to order, please fill in the enclosed linen form at least two weeks in advance and send it, along with payment, to: Mr. D. Cameron, 54 Kennedy Rd, FORT WILLIAM PH33 6HJ. The linen will include your bedding requirements, towels, tea towels and bathmat; there is no bedding supplied with the cot.

If you wish to use the sofa bed there is a single duvet and pillows provided, we advise you bring a double sheet for the sofa bed if required.

 

If you are bringing a dog, please take extra care, as one or two owners have experienced damage from dogs.

You are respectfully reminded that any damages must be reported and paid for and properties must be left in a clean and tidy condition prior to departure.
