Tigh Nisbet is a traditional croft house
overlooking the sea in the township
of
Ormsaigbeg
to the west of Kilchoan (Map
Ref
NM
468 629). It was built in 1912 for his family by Captain Nisbet,
a seafaring man, who had himself been born on the croft. |

The
house is set in a mature and colourful garden and faces south
with glorious views over the Sound of Mull to Beinn Mhorr in the
distance. It is a few hundred yards from a pebble beach and
rough walking behind the house takes you up onto Beinn na Seilg
from where you can look north to Skye and the Inner Hebrides,
west to Coll and Tiree and south to Mull. |

The house remained in the Nisbet
family until the present owners bought it some 15 years ago.
It has now been extended and modernized and is used by them
as a second home and by their family and friends. It
is comfortable and friendly and fully heated guaranteeing a
cosy stay whatever time of the year. |
