About
the Area
An ideal family retreat
that is peaceful, unhurried and friendly. Miles of clean sandy
beaches and coves offer spectacular sea views to the Western
Isles.
Mainland
Britain's most westerly point, Ardnamurchan is reached by a slow
and incredibly beautiful wooded road, running with every changing
views along Loch Sunart to the lighthouse.
Protected by its remoteness, this unique ecology hosts many rare
plants, birds and animals, including otters, eagles, pine martens,
wildcats, whales and sea-eagles.
The area offers opportunities for the fisherman, angler, birdwatcher,
diver, yachtsman, photographer and hill walker, and a true haven
for those that just want to relax and enjoy the "peace and
tranquillity".

Meandering around the Ardnamurchan Peninsula it seemed an absurd cliché, yet the wild loneliness and loveliness of the area had a haunting appeal. Ardnamurchan has an untamed, magical quality."
