Steading Holidays is a family run business located
in Ardnamurchan, Britain's most westerly point in mainland Britain. Unlike larger self

We are based centrally to our business in the west coast of Scotland, Kilchoan in Ardnamurchan. Each property we let has the benefit of being supervised personally by the owner or house keeper and ourselves, who know each property well and visit them on a regular basis.
Our quality cottages are located in Western Ardnamurchan and provide a peaceful and unhurried rural retreat amongst sandy beaches with spectacular sea views to the Western Isles of Scotland.

"Very much enjoyed our stay. views couldn't be better. Lovely beach at Bay MacNeil - well worth the walk. Visted Rhum, saw dolphins, seals and basking sharks plus a minke whale."
Quote from Eilean Feoir guest book.
Ardnamurchan, Mainland Britain's most westerly point, is an ideal family self-catering retreat. It is peaceful, unhurried and friendly with miles of clean sandy beaches, coves and spectacular sea views. It is reached by an incredibly beautiful wooded road, running with ever-changing views along Loch Sunart to the Ardnamurchan lighthouse, which, at 22 miles further west than Land's End is the most westerly point on the British mainland. Protected by its rural remoteness, this unique ecology hosts many rare plants and wildlife, including otters, pine martens, wildcats, deer, seals, dolphins, whales, sea-eagles and a variety of other birds.

The Isle of Mull, across the water from Ardnamurchan, is an island with plenty of activities to offer. From a boat trip to Fingal’s Cave on Staffa and the Treshnish Isles to see puffins, bird life and sea mammals, to being shown by local wildlife experts where to spot otters, seals, eagles and buzzards. The capital of Mull, Tobermory (a 35 minute ferry journey from Kilchoan) is a small fishing community built around a natural harbour, with a good selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.
Both Mull and Ardnamurchan offer opportunities for angling, birdwatching, diving, sailing, photography and hill walking, and are a true haven for those who just want to relax and enjoy the abundant "peace and tranquillity". So, if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday in the West Highlands set in beautiful countryside, or a self catering rural retreat in Scotland, just contact us and we can recommend which of the wide variety of houses, cottages and log cabins, should best suit your needs.
